I’ve created this blog to chronicle the construction of the U-District Light Rail Station. This will be a major change to both the University District and to the entire Seattle region. Rail-based mass transit has been around for decades in the Eastern US, Europe, and other parts of the world but it is a new phenomena in the Western US. In a few years folks might wonder what things were like before light rail. I hope this blog will help answer that question.

I have always been fascinated by construction and this blog reflects that continuing fascination. I’ve tried to organize it so it can be quickly scanned if you are not into the details of the site’s construction.
