R561: Intermediate WWW Graphics

his is an intermediate level class which introduces you to some of the more sophisticated graphic applications on the WWW. These include concepts in computer graphics; graphic applications in frames, clickable image maps, and images maps in frames using manual, semi-automatic, and automated methods (such as Microsoft FrontPage and other programs); methods of acquiring and placing graphics from other packages, such as PowerPoint and Excel; how to extend WWW browsers through graphical plugins; how to create and tailor animated GIFS using FrontPage and Microsoft's Liquid Motion package; and interactive graphics such as VRML and how to acquire and modify Java Applets.

In addition we provide you with pointers to additional sources which you can explore on your own, such as graphic labs on campus, online HTML and VRML tutorials, online sources for graphics concepts, books on HTML, and related C&C and UWired courses.

Prerequisite: R560: Introduction to Graphics on the WWW (or equivalent), along with experience with HTML, establishment of your own home page, and experience with PCs or Macintosh.
