Getting Started With Poker Tracker

Requesting Hand Histories

The first thing you need to do is gather some hand histories together. You can request hand histories from Paradise, PokerStars and Party (and their affiliates, EmpirePoker, Intertops, Coral, etc.) by doing the following:

Paradise - from the lobby window, go to the Options menu and select Request Hand Histories. On the window that opens, you can choose to have your last xx hands emailed to you or you can request a specific hand number. The maximum number they will send at one time is 100. Enter the number of hands you want (or the game number) and click the OK button. You will be prompted telling you the email has been sent.

PokerStars - from the lobby window, go to the Requests menu and select Hand History. Stars allows you to request your last xx number of hands, a specific hand or your hands played over the last xx hours. BE AWARE though that if you use this feature to request your hands played over the past xx hours, they will NEVER send more than 200 hands, even if you have played more than that. It's very misleading. Another feature that Stars has is the ability to request Tournament Summaries (also under the Requests Menu). If you are importing tournament hand histories, it is important that you also request the tournament summary for the tournament(s) you are playing in.

Party and Affiliates - from the lobby window, go to the My Account menu and select Request Hand History. Here again you can select your last xx number of hands or a specific game number. Like Paradise, the maximum number of hands you can get at one time is 100.

Ultimate Bet - UB does not have an automated way of requesting hand histories yet. To find out how to get UB hand histories, click here...

What to do once you have requested you hand histories?

So, now that you have your hand histories sent to your email account, you need to import them into Poker Tracker. A common misconception is that Poker Tracker will automatically load your hands for you as you play. This is false. Poker Tracker has an auto-request feature that will save you the steps described above for requesting your hand histories but it is still up to you to import them. Click here for detailed information on using the auto-request feature and for importing your hand histories.

How to view your statistics?

Once your hand histories are loaded, you will want to view your stats.

If you have loaded ring-game hand histories, click here...

If you have loaded tournament hand histories/summaries, click here...
