Anthro Research

About me | I've led three research efforts with the aim of better understanding the forces that shape (or have shaped) the evolution of cooperation

Research | Cooperation and health in highland Peru: My NSF funded dissertation research approached three interrelated factors of social life in highland Peru: the regulation of cooperation via reputational incentives, the dynamics of social support network membership, and the health consequences of membership in social networks. Blood donation: This research is the first empirical investigation of blood donations in evolutionary perspective. Using costly signaling theory, we explore why blood donors share unconditionally with unrelated strangers. P2P file sharing: This research examined unconditional generosity by file uploaders in online peer-to-peer file sharing networks.
