Next

There are many places on the web to find free software. Often typing in the words "free" "educational" "software" in Google will present you with a number of free programs.

An excellent site is Download.com (www.download.com). There you can search for all kinds of software. After choosing a type of software, at the bottom of the page you can specify that the page only display free software.

If you want to try out different browsers (a browser is a program that displays Internet web pages) you can get several for free. Firefox and Mozilla are free at www.mozilla.org. Mozilla has a built in web page creator called Mozilla Composer. You can use Mozilla Composer as one of the web page creation applications.

Here, we will demonstrate the steps in downloading Nvu, a free web page editor based on Mozilla Composer. The site is www.nvu.com
