I was born in Loveland, Colorado on 4/08/1973. However, I
was raised in Vancouver, Washington. After attending high
school, I went to Clark Community College and was the first
in my family to attend college. I transferred to the University
of Washington where I pursued a degree in Sociology. It was
my transfer experience that led me to my commitment to the
transfer student transition.
My hobbies include hiking, camping, movies, music, and college
football. I've been a Crisis Line volunteer for 13 years now
and have been working in higher education for 10 years. Change
and transition is an inevitable part of life. It has been
my role in this world to help folks manage change and help
facilitate smooth transitions. I believe that with all change,
however tragic, easy or difficult, there will come growth
and new opportunities. However, this does not mean that I
think change for change sake is always needed. It does mean
that with all changes, you must expect yourself to transform
as well. That's what transition is.
