Elizabeth J. Widdison

 Ms. Widdison has been a lecturer in accounting since 1981, joining University of Washington faculty in 1999.  Active in the professional accounting community, she serves on the advisory board for the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and chaired the membership committee of that organization in the development of a new strategic membership plan.  She received the President’s Award for her service in that capacity in 1999.

Course coverage in the Business School includes introductory and intermediate financial accounting and managerial accounting.  In the Masters of Professional Accounting Program (MPacc – Auditing and Assurance track), Ms. Widdison is responsible for teaching professional communications, and she is the academic advisor and faculty leader for the internship and thesis components of the program.  She has also served as faculty leader for certain projects in the executive TMMBA program.

A national AICPA Sells Award winner for her performance on the CPA exam, achieving the highest score in the state of Washington, Ms. Widdison is actively involved in presenting seminars and developing materials for candidates preparing for the professional certification exams, CPA and CMA.  She has presented in-house workshops locally for The Boeing Company, nationally for Applied Materials in San Jose and Austin, and internationally for AKAD (a private business college in Zurich, Switzerland), as well as for private professional certification preparation organizations in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo.
