Spicy Black Eyed Peas
- Ingredients:
- Olive oil
- 3-4 jalapenos, diced, with seeds
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 c. water, plus more as needed
- 2 bags black eyed peas, frozen
- Onion powder
- Garlic salt
- Black pepper
Sautee the jalapenos and onion in olive oil. When the jalapenos and onions have softened, add the garlic and cook 1-2 more minutes.
Add water to the pot and bring to a boil. When the water is boiling, add the black eyed peas and cook 30-45 minutes, until cooked. Season with onion powder, garlic salt, and black pepper. Serve over brown rice or cornbread.
