Sauteed Cabbage

Slightly modified from Barefoot Contessa.
Ingredients:
1 small head white cabbage, including outer green leaves (2.5 lbs.)
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper

Cut the cabbage in half and cut the outer leaves into 1x1 inch pieces. Discard the core.
Melt the butter in a large saute pan or heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Add the cabbage, salt, and pepper and sautee for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and begins to brown. Season to taste and serve warm.
