Collaborative Approach
The School of Marine Affairs invites other UW departments (e.g. School of Business, Program on Africa, Program on the Environment, School of Fisheries, Urban Planning) to join this Project as it offers exciting academic and research opportunities for faculty and students. Similarly, in the East Cape Province, the Project will offer opportunities to University and off-campus partners and supporters as well.
Additional funds are being sought to expand the Marine Outreach Program, support UW graduate and undergraduate students working on the Project; engage more faculty time needed to implement the academic programs and to involve Mozambique's University of Eduardo Mondlane and the University of Namibia. Both universities have expressed great interest in collaborating with UW and UPE on the Project.
