Operations and Project Management
Responsible for department operations and special project management for UW Biostatistics.

Management and Leadership
Previous experience hiring and supervising administrative staff, including student assistants. Current and previous Lead duties. Experience training others with an emphasis on websites, word processing (including mail merge), presentations, and general office procedures. Previous office management experience.

Administrative Support Skills

- Previous executive support experience.
- Advanced word processing and electronic presentation skills.
- Event preparation, including marketing and promotional materials, speaker arrangements, interaction with diverse participants, catering and venue contracts and arrangements, and assistance with budget development.
- Records management and organization.
- Complex meeting and client appointment scheduling, including room scheduling.
- Preparation of reports, correspondence and complex presentations.
- Current and previous program support.

Events Management
Provide complex full-service events planning and management of on- and off-site training institutes, workshops, conferences, symposia, seminars, and other academic events. Routinely interact with faculty, staff, and students, as well as persons from other countries. Work closely with vendors and service-based groups. Schedule classrooms and lecture halls, reserve A/V equipment, and ensure adherence to policies and regulations. Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts. Schedule meetings and speaker visit itineraries. Negotiate hotel contracts and catering. Design marketing and promotional media for print and online use. Arrange speaker travel. Update web content using CMS applications. Track expenditures and assist with budget projections.

Computing
Proficient with both Windows (through 10) and Mac; MS Office; Canvas LMS, Doodle Poll; Google Apps; Adobe Creative Suite; Drupal CMS, Outlook, Calendaring, Social Media, and other applications as needed.

Web
Currently assist with content management for department public and intranet web sites using Drupal. Work closely with web team to ensure functional, accurate and visually appealing web presence. Previous experience creating and managing web sites, including addng secure login functionality.

Desktop Publishing
Concept to design and production of marketing, programmatic, and course materials for press and web. UW Brand identity used in current marketing materials.

Legal Training
Able to research applicable law for issues related to the unit’s mission and work. Excellent legal writing skills, which include establishing fact patterns, identifying issues, and providing solid analysis for effective decision making. Certified with Clio Manage (a cloud-based law practice management application).

Occupational Trainer
- Web: Previously responsible for training graduate students in creating and uploading their student web pages on the UW’s web servers.
- Applications: Previously trained others on advanced functions of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Student Teacher: Street Law, Emerald Ridge High School.
