Other Previous Experience: In June 1984, I launched my career as a Word Processing Operator with The Boeing Company, where I worked closely with aerospace engineers on various proposals, primarily for the Department of Defense. I received on-the-job training for the Xerox 8010 Star and 6085 Documenter computing systems, both of which were forerunners of the Mac. After Boeing, I had the opportunity to work with engineers at Pacific Testing Laboratories and two civil engineering firms: Wood Harbinger, Inc. and Entranco, Inc. I gained a wealth of experience and terminology with these three firms in the areas of civil, environmental, chemical and forensic engineering, as well as non-destructive examination (NDE) and soils testing. At the time I left Pacific Testing, after promoting to the Administrative Services Manager, I was in process of training for a concrete inspection (Level I) license. Finally, while working second shift at Entranco, Inc., I was offered a position at the University of Washington and started work there in January 1991.
