Writing a Class Overview

1. One Minute Essay:
   Write an overview of the course that includes:

   • Philosophic statement of the reason for or value of studying the subject of the course
   • Specific statements of what students should be able to accomplish as a result of taking the course

2. When you are finished, trade statements with another person and evaluate their statement. Is their statement clear, complete, and do-able? Are the expected student accomplishments reasonable and appropriate given the stated scope of the class?
