About Me
How did I get into this business? I am not quite sure, but here are some of the milestones I passed by along the way.
- Bachelor of Arts degree from the UW in Editorial Journalism.
- Master of Science degree from the College of Forest Resources at the UW. My Master's thesis was a simulation of forest fire effects on ecosystems.

- Nature photographer for National Park Service at Mount Rainier
- Industrial photographer for Honeywell Marine Systems
- Technical writer for Service Center One in Olympia
- Scientific database programmer for the Coronary Artery Surgery Study (I actually have my name on two papers in the New England Journal of Medicine)
- Database manager for the Regional Forest Nutrition Research Project and the Stand Management Cooperative
- Twelve years providing long term foster care through the Casey Family Program
Among my personal interests are nature photography, bicycle touring, genealogy, Hawaiian music, improv comedy and science writing.
