Minimum standards adopted by DEH Web Task Group April 13, 1999

Web pages on the departmental site should contain:
  • Departmental logo and a credit to the artist, Marvin Oliver. You may also want to identify it as "Soul Catcher: a Northwest Coast Indian symbol of physical and mental well-being." Here is a link to the description.
  • Full identification of the publisher/author of the Web site (School of Public Health and Community Medicine/Department of Environmental Health)
  • Link to departmental home page
  • META tags: hidden tags that are not seen on screen but are used for searching and document identification.
  • Date when the page was last updated
  • A linked e-mail address (webmaster or page owner)
  • Postal address, phone and fax numbers (if appropriate)
  • Link to top (if more than one screen length)
  • Copyright notice (if copyrighted material is used) or disclaimer (on pages with links). See UW guidelines.
  • Pages should be legible on-screen in a variety of browsers, in text-only mode and in printout. Page needs to be ADA compliant.
  • Content and links should have undergone review in light of the above criteria.
