  • Can I check out materials?

    The general public can check out materials from the Lending Collection. All other materials are for library use only, except by Center for Urban Horticulture faculty, staff or students.

  • Are you planning to be open evenings and weekends?

    The Miller Library is currently open Monday evenings until 8:00 p.m. (See Hours). It is hoped that additional open hours on other evenings and weekends will be possible in the future, but this is dependent upon receiving funding.

  • Do you want donations of books and magazines?

    The Miller Library gratefully accepts donations of books and magazines. All donated material is reviewed according to the same selection criteria applied to purchased material. If your donation is not needed for the library collection, it will be sold in a used book sale with the proceeds going to the library's book acquisition fund.

  • Can I donate a book in memory of someone?

    Yes. All gift books will be processed with a memorial bookplate, if desired.

    No. Separate Author, Subject, and Title catalogs are available in print at the library. Please ask at the Reference Desk.

    "Hortus West", located in the Periodicals collection, is the main locator and directory of growers.

    We have several lists in the Vertical Files collection.

    Yes, several located in the Garden Construction section of the general books.

    No. We suggest you contact the Puget Sound Mycological Society.

  • Can you identify a plant over the phone?

    No, but specimens may be left for identification by the Center for Urban Horticulture hortorium staff.

  • My plant is sick. If I bring it into the library, can you tell me what's wrong?

    No. We recommend you contact the Master Gardener's Clinic, also located at the Center for Urban Horticulture.

    No, but we can refer you to the appropriate professional organization for the service you need.

    Yes, nearly 700 of them in the Catalogs collection.

    Dates and ticket availability are shown in the Royal Horticultural Society's journal The Garden, located in the Periodicals collection.

    April 20, 1996. We have dates of all major, local plant sales at the Reference Desk.
