My Metro bus travels this week were pretty limited. Today I took the bus to the UW, then to the county hospital after lunch, then caught the bus out of downtown back home again in the evening. I don’t think I was accosted or felt threatened even once. Such a disappointing day for bus-riding! Perhaps I have been concentrating too much on a new audiobook, The Corner of His Eye by Dean Koontz, to notice the crazies. I’m now into the 6th disk of 18 and so far it’s been 5 disks of weirdness... but the story is finally starting to come together.
Cabin-Talk
I promised myself to start discussing my cabin research on this page - partly so that I have a place to put cool web links, partly so that I can get some feedback, and partly so that I don’t lose any good ideas (few and far between as they may be).
I can begin briefly by stating what my idea of a “cabin” is not: it is not on the cover of any log home magazine. Don’t get me wrong, those homes are beautiful, but I haven’t yet figured out how to make enough money to afford something like that. Moreover, maintaining a massive log house like that would stress me out -- NOT quite what I’m looking for.
I’m going for: small, possibly multiple buildings, do-it-yourself construction, and as off-the-grid as possible. Now, I see many structures that fit this description underneath the overpasses of I-5 on my way to work in the morning. Let’s get a mental image of something in between. I think the setup of cabins/houses on this page is pretty cool (not sure about the modern-industrial look): Alternative Home Pictures
She’s getting cuter and more friendly and is a good baby. So much more easy going than her brother! (I say this while I hear her screaming bloody murder in her bedroom)
