Announces Lingtak-Neander Chan as Distinguished Nutrition Support Pharmacist Service Award Winner<br \/>\n<\/strong>Dr. Chan honored for his dedication to clinical nutrition<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lingtak_award_photo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7180\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lingtak_award_photo.jpg\" alt=\"Lingtak_award_photo\" width=\"206\" height=\"297\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>April 4, 2013, Silver Spring, MD<\/strong> &#8211; The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (A.S.P.E.N.) is pleased to announce Lingtak-Neander Chan, PharmD, BCNSP, Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, Interdisciplinary Faculty, Graduate Program in Nutritional Sciences, University of Washington, Seattle, WA, Chair, A.S.P.E.N. Research Committee as the winner of the 2013 Distinguished Nutrition Support Pharmacist Service Award.<\/p>\n<p>The Distinguished Nutrition Support Pharmacist Service Award recognizes a pharmacist who has made substantial contributions to A.S.P.E.N. Criteria include leadership roles in both the local A.S.P.E.N. chapter and in the national organization leadership structure, service that has been provided willingly, effectively, and dependably and demonstration as a role model and mentor for pharmacists who wish to become future leaders of A.S.P.E.N.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Chan is very active within the A.S.P.E.N. community and is a regular presenter at A.S.P.E.N.\u2019s Clinical Nutrition Week\u2014the premier event for clinical nutrition and metabolism. He is the current Chair of the Research Committee, has served as Chair of A.S.P.E.N.\u2019s Abstract Review and Publications Review Committees, is currently a JPEN Associate Editor and is involved with A.S.P.E.N.\u2019s Drug-Nutrient and Pharmacy Sections.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dr. Chan is a fabulous mentor and leader within the A.S.P.E.N. community,&#8221; said Debra S. BenAvram, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, A.S.P.E.N. &#8220;His research as well as his willingness to help others demonstrates his dedication to the advancement of clinical nutrition and metabolism.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (A.S.P.E.N.) is dedicated to improving patient care by advancing the science and practice of nutrition support therapy. Founded in 1976, A.S.P.E.N. is an interdisciplinary organization whose members are involved in the provision of clinical nutrition therapies, including parenteral and enteral nutrition.
