{"id":34863,"date":"2026-06-17T09:40:59","date_gmt":"2026-06-17T16:40:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/?p=34863"},"modified":"2026-06-17T09:40:59","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T16:40:59","slug":"sop-makes-a-strong-showing-at-aspet-annual-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staff.washington.edu\/twentzel\/wordpress\/sop-makes-a-strong-showing-at-aspet-annual-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"SOP Makes a Strong Showing at ASPET Annual Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UW School of Pharmacy faculty, students and trainees were well represented at the recent 2026 American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics Annual Meeting, showcasing the depth of discovery, leadership and scientific excellence across our School.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Among this year\u2019s highlights, <strong>Nina Isoherranen<\/strong> was selected as a <strong>Fellow of the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics<\/strong>, one of the Society\u2019s highest honors. Fellows are recognized for their meritorious efforts to advance pharmacology through scientific achievement, mentorship and service.<\/p>\n<p>Our students also earned recognition for their outstanding research presentations. <strong>Piper Zhang<\/strong> won first place in The Division for Translational and Clinical Pharmacology competition, <strong>Keiann Simon<\/strong> won <strong>second place in the Dolores F. Shockley poster competition<\/strong>, and <strong>Eimear O\u2019Mahony<\/strong> won <strong>third place in the Drug Metabolism and Disposition Division graduate student competition<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Larissa Robinson-Cooper<\/strong>, a PhD candidate in <strong>Melissa Barker-Haliski\u2019s lab<\/strong> in the Department of Pharmaceutics, was recognized as one of 13 members of the <strong>2025\u20132026 ASPET Washington Fellows Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud of all who presented, competed, collaborated and represented UW School of Pharmacy at ASPET 2026.
