In partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/wsparx\/__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!i_vLkmgJz7NMP7nlpUlz0QS7QLL4Pv8FK3sHhTKX3wPiGunltvhWHTg2oQpXmFUQlwNmpUyqKqPcgr6MgA$\">Washington State Pharmacy Association<\/a>, the UW School of Pharmacy community showed up in record numbers to engage directly with state lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>In total, 115 pharmacy students and 20 pharmacists\u2014including six faculty members and several alumni\u2014participated in 60 meetings with Washington State legislators. Conversations focused on pharmacist prescriptive authority and educating lawmakers on how policy can improve patient access to care while helping address healthcare affordability across the state. Student participation reached an all-time high.<\/p>\n<p>Several factors contributed to the day&#8217;s success: legislation that resonated deeply with students&#8217; training and future roles, and\u2014most importantly\u2014the leadership of a dedicated, well-prepared group of student leaders who helped guide and organize their peers.
