The CHOICE Institute is excited to launch its\u00a0new Certificate in Data Science in Health Economics and Outcomes Research. Big data is the new norm across health industries, and the ability to apply data science tools to HEOR is critical. This new online program\u00a0is designed for working professionals who want to understand how to apply data science concepts to health care data analysis and decision-making.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Developed by CHOICE\u00a0faculty, the certificate features three courses: Principles of Data Science & Health Care Data, Comparative Effectiveness Analysis with Routine Care Data<\/i>, and Principles of Machine Learning & Applications in HEOR<\/i>. One of the unique features of this program is that it focuses on data science concepts and their application in health care data analysis rather than coding or complex statistical derivations. Lessons will cover fundamentals like working with real-world data, causal inference methods, and machine learning principles and how these principles and methods are applied in the HEOR field.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This new certificate complements our ongoing program, the Certificate in Health Economics and Outcomes Research. This continues to provide a foundational introduction to HEOR with its three courses, Principles of Health Economics, Economic Evaluation in Health & Medicine<\/i>, and Practice of Health Technology Assessment in a Global Environment.<\/i> Students learn how to address problems of resource allocation and improve decision-making in complex health care settings.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Applications are accepted from April 17, 2024, through September 11, 2024. Courses start September 25, 2024.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
