Rachel Wittenauer <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In November, 4th-year CHOICE Institute PhD student, Rachel Wittenauer,<\/strong> was invited to attend a meeting hosted by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) at their headquarters in Washington, DC for an APhA-CDC project, “Improving Standard Immunization Practices Among Pharmacists and Other Healthcare Providers.” She joined a group of other pharmacy practitioners and researchers to think through the design and construction of a new CDC-funded public-facing mapping tool to close gaps in immunization access by helping patients identify pharmacies that can provide immunizations and illustrating key differences in pharmacy-based immunization policies between states. This meeting topic is directly linked to Rachel’s dissertation research, titled, “Equitable access and reimbursement for pharmacy-based services: A case study of adult vaccinations” which she expects to defend in Spring 2024.<\/p>\n
