{"id":29361,"date":"2022-05-11T10:06:06","date_gmt":"2022-05-11T17:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/?p=29361"},"modified":"2022-05-11T10:11:55","modified_gmt":"2022-05-11T17:11:55","slug":"uwsop-professor-wins-award-of-excellence-in-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staff.washington.edu\/twentzel\/wordpress\/uwsop-professor-wins-award-of-excellence-in-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"UWSOP Professor Wins Award of Excellence in 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/lin_yvonne-1.jpg\" alt=\"Yvonne Lin\" width=\"200\" \/>The School of Pharmacy is proud to announce that <strong>Yvonne Lin<\/strong> \u201902, Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics, will receive the <em>Distinguished Contributions to Lifelong Learning Award <\/em>at the upcoming 52<sup>nd<\/sup> Annual UW Awards of Excellence presentation.<\/p>\n<p>Award recipients will be honored from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on June 9 at the Meany Hall for Performing Arts. The UW community\u202fand the general public are welcome to attend.\u202fFor more information about the celebration, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/facultystaff\/2022\/05\/03\/uw-announces-2022-awards-of-excellence-recipients\/\">use the link here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lin received her BA in Biophysics from the University of California at Berkeley, her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Washington, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Her research interests include natural product-drug interactions, regulation of drug metabolizing enzymes in children and in pregnancy, and using metabolomics to discover endogenous biomarkers of drug metabolism and transport.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Dr. Lin received one of four School of Pharmacy Faculty Innovation Awards for her research proposal titled, <em>Assessing the Drug Interaction Potential of Postbiotic Supplementation.<\/em> These awards are given to innovative faculty projects with high scientific merit. <a
