{"id":28141,"date":"2021-10-20T10:18:43","date_gmt":"2021-10-20T17:18:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/?p=28141"},"modified":"2021-10-20T15:43:32","modified_gmt":"2021-10-20T22:43:32","slug":"three-choice-faculty-receive-international-ispor-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staff.washington.edu\/twentzel\/wordpress\/three-choice-faculty-receive-international-ispor-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Three CHOICE faculty receive international ISPOR awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISPOR\u2014the professional society for health economics and outcomes research (HEOR)\u2014 recently announced its annual round of award winners, and three faculty members from The CHOICE Institute \u2013 <strong>Anirban Basu<\/strong>, <strong>Beth Devine<\/strong> and <strong>Aasthaa Bansal<\/strong> \u2013 have been named recipients for 2021.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/BASU-1.jpg\" alt=\"Basu\" width=\"135\"  \/> Basu, Stergachis Family Endowed Director of The CHOICE Institute, was recognized for his paper, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispor.org\/publications\/journals\/value-in-health\/abstract\/Volume-23--Issue-1\/Health-Years-in-Total--A-New-Health-Objective-Function-for-Cost-Effectiveness-Analysis\">Health Years in Total: A New Health Objective Function for Cost-Effectiveness Analysis<\/a>\u201d (published in January 2020) and was bestowed the Value in Health Paper of the Year Award. This paper was co-authored by CHOICE faculty Josh Carlson and Dave Veenstra.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/DEVINE.jpg\" alt=\"Devine\" width=\"135\" \/>Devine, a Shirley and Herb Bridge Endowed Professor and CHOICE\u2019s Graduate Program Director, was selected as the recipient of the HEOR Excellence-Application Award for her paper, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/Chen_Online-Tools_RWE_CER_Formularies_JMCP_Jan-2021.pdf\">Online tools to synthesis: real-world evidence of comparative effectiveness research to enhance formulary decision making.\u201d<\/a> The award recognizes outstanding practical application of health economics and outcomes research in health care decision-making.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/BANSAL.jpg\" alt=\"Bansal\" width=\"135\" \/>Bansal, an Associate Professor at The CHOICE Institute, was named winner of the 2020 Bernie J.
