Archambault award by the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP).\u00a0This is the Society\u2019s highest honor conferred to an individual for their outstanding contributions to the profession.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored and humbled to receive the Archambault award,\u201d she said. \u201cMy passion for improving medication outcomes in older adults has been inspired by many wonderful mentors and colleagues, especially Drs. Joe Hanlon and Joy Plein.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the inaugural Director of the Plein Center, Shelly oversees efforts to advance geriatric pharmacy education, research, and outreach to optimize older adults\u2019 medication outcomes and promote healthy aging. She has expertise in pharmacoepidemiology and has published several studies evaluating the risks associated with medication use (e.g., anticholinergics, benzodiazepines) and important health outcomes, including falls, fractures, dementia, and disability. An investigator on numerous federally funded research grants, Shelly has authored over 125 peer-reviewed publications and has over 12 years of clinical experience conducting medication reviews to optimize therapy for older adults and provides instruction in the PharmD program on geriatric-related content.<\/p>\n<p>Shelly will be among ASCP\u2019s prestigious 2021 awardees honored during the Richard S.
