NICE evaluates the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of health strategies for that country&#8217;s health system.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<h3>UW Pharmacy Alumni Association Annual Don B. Katterman Lecture<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>On Thursday, Dr. Neumann addressed an audience of UWSOP alumni, friends, faculty, and students on Measuring Value in Healthcare. The enlightening presentation addressed how a value can be put properly on a treatment that reduces pain, relieves symptoms, or extends life. He discussed opportunities, barriers, and trends in using formal cost- effectiveness analysis to measure value in health care and in the practice of pharmacy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Peter is Director of the Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health at the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies at Tufts Medical Center, and Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Advance your career in patient-centered outcomes\u00a0research at the University of Washington.
