Andy Stergachis presents UWSOP Graduate Leadership Award to Mark Bounthavong <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The UWSOP Graduate Student Leadership Award honors graduate students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and service\u00a0and have had\u00a0a positive impact on the School of Pharmacy, UW, the Northwest community, scientific and\/or professional community.\u00a0This year, the award goes to three students:\u00a0Mark Bounthavong,\u00a0Ryan Seguin, and Elijah Weber.<\/p>\n

Mark Bounthavong, PharmD, MPH, is a PhD student in the Pharmaceutical Outcomes, Research and Policy Program (PORPP) in the UWSOP\u2019s Department of Pharmacy. He recently completed service as President of the UW Student Chapter of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). His doctoral dissertation chair, Associate Professor Beth Devine, PhD, PharmD, MBA and Director, Graduate Program, PORPP, writes, \u201cMark\u2019s intellect, inquisitive nature, drive, genuine personal warmth, fundamental desire to help others and, of course, leadership skills are reasons that will make us all proud to have him as recipient of this award.\u201d Dave Veenstra, PharmD, PhD, Professor and Associate Director of PORPP writes, \u201cAs a PORPP student, Mark serves as a role model for other students.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark\u2019s work with the National Academic Detailing Program in mental health illness demonstrates a strong commitment to caring for Veterans. Mark received his award at the Welcome Back Graduate Program Reception on October, 16th 2017.<\/p>\n
