{"id":27051,"date":"2021-06-02T13:22:59","date_gmt":"2021-06-02T20:22:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/?page_id=27051"},"modified":"2023-04-18T07:29:37","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T14:29:37","slug":"the-readi-tool","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/staff.washington.edu\/twentzel\/wordpress\/choice\/research\/research-projects\/the-readi-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"The REAdi Tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Real-world Evidence Assessments and Needs Guidance (REAdi) Tool<\/h1>\n<h3>A Framework for Evaluating Real-World Evidence<\/h3>\n<p>The Real-world Evidence Assessments and Needs Guidance (REAdi) Tool is a web-based tool to help healthcare stakeholders and decision makers assess existing real-world evidence (RWE) in health technology assessment (HTA) processes.<\/p>\n<p>REAdi was developed by investigators at The CHOICE Institute. It was partially funded through an unrestricted gift to the University of Washington from a consortium of eleven biomedical companies.<\/p>\n<p>The REAdi framework is comprehensive in leading the user through the decision making process in five phases:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 1:<\/strong> User defines research question in the Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome(s), Timing, Study Design\/ Setting (PICOTS) format.<\/p>\n<p>Once defined, REAdi automatically synthesizes terms, creates and executes a PubMed search strategy. Citations of relevant studies are returned for review.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 2:<\/strong> REAdi guides users to a validated, publically available, embedded, quality-rating tool tailored to the design of each study.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 3:<\/strong> User is prompted to rate the strength of the body of evidence for each outcome using the publically available GRADEPro (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations) criteria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 4:<\/strong> Questions are posed to assess applicability and sufficiency of evidence to inform HTA adoption decisions; and to facilitate coverage decisions relevant to the immediate payer decision need at hand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 5:<\/strong> Summary results are presented in a tabular and graphical report.<\/p>\n<p>REAdi is presented through an easy-to-use R Shiny interface, using drop-down menus, branching logic, and piping.
