The Graduate Program in Medicinal Chemistry interfaces with the broader University of Washington research community, and the considerable biotechnology community in Seattle, to lead many aspects of research in the fields of drug metabolism and disposition, drug design and delivery, and disease mechanism.<br \/>\n<a class=\"uw-btn btn-sm btn-none\" href=\"\/department-of-medicinal-chemistry\/graduate-education-training-programs\/phd-program\/\">Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"\/department-of-medicinal-chemistry\/graduate-education-training-programs\/pharmacological-science\/\">Pharmacological Sciences Training Program (PSTP)<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>The pre-doctoral Pharmacological Sciences Training Program (PSTP) at the University of Washington (UW) is a cross-disciplinary program that represents a merger of research training opportunities in the Schools of Medicine (Dept. Pharmacology) and Pharmacy (Depts. Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutics). PSTP provides traineeships for graduate students working towards their PhD in the broad areas of \u201cDrug Action, Metabolism and Kinetics,\u201d but following more specific tracks that emphasize training in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>cellular and molecular pharmacology<\/li>\n<li>structure and drug\/vaccine design<\/li>\n<li>drug metabolism<\/li>\n<li>pharmacokinetics\/dynamics and drug transport<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"uw-btn btn-sm btn-none\" href=\"\/department-of-medicinal-chemistry\/graduate-education-training-programs\/pharmacological-science\/\">Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PhD in Medicinal Chemistry The Department of Medicinal Chemistry is an academic unit within the highly collaborative, interdisciplinary School of Pharmacy.
