The Plein Center is a global leader in transformative pharmacy research, education and outreach. We are committed to optimizing older adults\u2019 medication outcomes and promoting healthy aging.<\/p>\n<h2>Latest News<\/h2>\n<h4>Congratulations to Plein Center for Aging Director Shelly Gray for being named a 2025 Fulbright Scholar!<\/h4>\n<p>One of four UW researchers selected for this prestigious award, Dr. Gray will be hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/China_Medical_University_(Taiwan)\">China Medical University (Taiwan)<\/a> in the College of Pharmacy, in September. She will pursue a project entitled, \u201cAdverse drug effects of medication use on sedentary time and physical activity in older adults.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/shelly-gray-named-2025-fulbright-scholar\/\">Shelly Gray Named Fulbright Scholar<\/a>\u00a0to learn more.<\/p>\n<h4>Check Out Our Latest Research Symposium!<\/h4>\n<p>Every year, the Plein Center for Aging hosts a research symposium that highlights important research related to optimizing medication use in older adults. This past spring, we featured keynote speaker Dr. Elizabeth Phelan, MD, MS to discuss her research on The Next Step in Falls Prevention: Insights, Innovations and Evidence-Based Strategies for Older Adults.<\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/T1xVwgYMtYk\">Fall Prevention<\/a> to watch a recording!<\/p>\n<h4>2024-2027 Strategic Plan<\/h4>\n<p>The Plein Center for Aging <a href=\"https:\/\/sop.washington.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/Strategic-Plan-2.pdf\">Strategic Plan<\/a>\u00a0will guide our actions, decisions and priorities in the coming three years. There are three sections: 1) Vision statement; 2) Mission statement; and 3) the Goals &amp; Strategies of our Strategic Plan.
