We are very proud of our preceptors, who are ever so much more than teachers. You help students put learned facts into the context of real practice situations, introduce the students to the many facets of pharmacy practice, act as role models for the kind of practitioner students want to become, and facilitate an experience where students take the responsibility for their learning. Collectively, you take the educational lead for 30% of our curriculum. Thank you for your time, patience, and enthusiasm for teaching our students!<\/p>\n<h2>Preceptor benefits<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligible for a Clinical Faculty Appointment and access the protected Health Sciences Library resources (including drug information resources such as Micromedex and Up to Date)<\/li>\n<li>Access to preceptor Continuing Education programs (free for UW SOP preceptors)<\/li>\n<li>Participate in trainings on topics (e.g. wellness and useful tools to improve precepting)<\/li>\n<li>Help nurture future pharmacists and give back to the profession<\/li>\n<li>Stay current on new therapies and strengthen personal knowledge base through collaboration with students<\/li>\n<li>Network with preceptors in the Pacific Northwest<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities for <a href=\"\/pharmd\/experiential-education\/preceptor-recognition\/\">Preceptor awards and recognition<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to become a preceptor<\/h2>\n<p>After reviewing the <a href=\"\/pharmd\/experiential-education\/preceptors\/preceptor-criteria\/\">Preceptor and Site Criteria<\/a>, please complete the <a href=\"\/pharmd\/experiential-education\/preceptors\/interest-form\/\">Preceptor Interest Form<\/a>.
