This program is designed for healthcare providers and educators and structured as a continuous professional development process. The goal is to develop participants\u2019 skills in the classroom and clinical practice setting, fostering their growth as lifelong professional mentors.<\/p>\n<h2>Program Objectives<\/h2>\n<p>By completing this program, the participants will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop and apply teaching and precepting skills<\/li>\n<li>Incorporate skills into lifelong learning and professional development<\/li>\n<li>Foster a professional relationship with learners, university, etc<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Intended Audience<\/h2>\n<p>PGY1 pharmacy practice residents<\/p>\n<h2>Program Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend two in-person summer full day workshops (8\/20\/26 and 9\/10\/26): Approximately 8 hours\/day (total of 16 hours)<\/li>\n<li>Complete at least one teaching practicum: Total of 25-30 hours (includes classroom contact and non-contact time, and mentorship)<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain teaching portfolio<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Curriculum\/Educational Activities<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Attend 2 full-day workshops:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Workshop #1 (8\/20\/26)\u00a0 <b><i>\u201cThe ART of Teaching and Learning\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Reflection and Personal Goals<\/li>\n<li>Educational Methods and Strategies<\/li>\n<li>Assessment of Learning<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Workshop #2 (9\/10\/26)\u00a0 <b><i>\u201cThe HEART of Teaching and Learning\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Clinician Educator Roles<\/li>\n<li>Learning Environment<\/li>\n<li>Feedback<\/li>\n<li>Performance Improvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Practicum:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Participants will engage in at least one SOP-based course as their teaching practicum during which they will apply teaching and precepting skills with mentorship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Enrollment and Program Costs<\/h2>\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\"><span data-ogsc=\"windowtext\">Enrollment\/registration: Registration for the 2026-27 Academic year will open 8am on July 2, 2026. <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/c1yV2xFdY7\">2026-27 Teaching and Learning Certificate Program Registration part 1<\/a><br \/>\nThere will be a maximum capacity of approximately 40 registrants due to available practicums.\u00a0 Please note your registration is not complete until payment is received by UW Conference Services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\">Program Cost: $350\/participant<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Questions about the program can be sent to <a href=\"mailto:rxteachc@uw.edu\">rxteachc@uw.edu<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Description The Teaching and Learning Certificate Program (TLCP) at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy (SOP) provides participants with a distinctive, application-based avenue to enhance their role and impact as educators.
