Sustainability funds
We have two funds which are specifically targetted to sustainability efforts:
Husky Green fund
The Husky Green Fund catalyzes university sustainability initiatives, such as activities that are set out in the UW Climate Action Plan that was submitted to the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment. This is a collaboration development fund working towards university-wide enrichment activities that bring students, faculty and staff together to achieve campus sustainability in Seattle, Bothell and Tacoma. The Husky Green Fund supports activities that continue the University's vision and leadership for environmental stewardship. (link to donation site)
CSF Campus Sustainability Fund
The CSF was approved in May, 2010 and will be implemented starting in fall of 2010.
The Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) is a major, student-led investment in a greener, more sustainable campus. It will provide funding for projects that increase campus sustainability, prioritize student leadership and involvement, and educate UW students, faculty, and staff in order to create a more environmentally responsible campus culture. The creation of the CSF will allow students to set the University's environmental agenda and create educational opportunities in the process. It will create incredible opportunities for students to get engaged and create a lasting, positive change on campus. Click on the link below to go to the CSF site and watch the video
UW Environmental Innovation Challenge
"In the UW Challenge, interdisciplinary student teams define a clean-tech problem, design and develop the solution, and produce both a prototype (proof of concept/computer simulation) and a business summary that demonstrates the market opportunity."
