Before Bringing a Tool Back:
Make sure vacuums(non hepa) are not full. Listen to the pitch of the vacuum to determine if it has become full. Empty the vacuum(non hepa) before bringing it back to the tool room.
Gently wipe down every tool brought back. Make sure a tool is not covered in dirt or powder.
Check to make sure a tool still operates properly after using it. If it's a light, test it to make sure a bulb has not burned out.
Determine that tools with accessories are complete before bringing them back. Vacuums should have all of their attachments, kits should have all of their individual parts, etc. Tell the tool room attendant if something has become lost or damaged.
Make sure tools with cases are latched properly. If a latch is broken, notify the tool room attendant.
Notify the tool room attendant if a tool becomes unsafe to use. For example, if you notice that a ladder has structural damage, tell the tool room attendant so they can take it out of circulation.
