DESSERTS
Bavarian Torte, Cream Puffs, Walnut Tart, Apple Dessert,
Spring Green Layer Dessert, Three Layer Lemon Dessert
BARVARIAN TORTE
Crust: 1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour |
Mix crust ingredients together, press into 9" spring form pan, and 1/2 " up the sides. |
Filling: 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. sugar 8 oz cream cheese |
Mix filling together and put into pastry. |
Topping: 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. sugar 3 apples, peeled and sliced 1/4 c. sliced almonds |
Toss sliced apples with cinnamon and sugar, spoon over filling, sprinkle almonds on top. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 400 and bake for 25 minutes. Cool, remove ring, and enjoy. |
CREAM PUFFS
1 cup water 1/2 cup butter 1 cup flour 4 eggs |
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Heat water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in flour. Stir vigorously over low heat about 1 minute or until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and beat in eggs all at one time, until smooth. Drop dough by tablespoons touching each other onto a baking sheet. Bake 20 - 30 minutes until golden. Cool. |
1/3 cup soft butter 3 cups powdered sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 T milk 3 T or more poppy seeds |
Blend butter and sugar. Stir in vanilla and milk. Beat until smooth. Add poppy seeds. Spread over pastry. |

WALNUT TART
1 1/3 c butter 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg yolk 1 C flour |
Blend in Cuisinart and press into tart pan. Bake 12 min. at 375. Cool. (Can reduce butter to 1 1/3 cubes.) |
Almond version: Add almond flavoring to base. |
2 cups nuts |
Spread 2 cups nuts on cookie sheet. Bake 5 min at 375. Cool. Sprinkle nuts on cooked shell |

2/3 C. brown sugar 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. Karo (dark) 2 T heavy cream |
Stir constantly over med. heat. Boil 1 min. Pour over nuts. Bake 10 min at 375. Serve with whipped cream. |

LAURALINN’S APPLE DESSERT
4 - 6 apples, cored, peeled and sliced 1 tsp. cinnamon Yellow cake mix 1/2 c. slivered almonds 1 cube melted butter |
Put apples in 9 x 13 pan Top with cinnamon. Cover with dry yellow cake mix and almonds. Pour butter over top. Bake until apples are tender, about 30 min at 350.

SPRING GREEN DESSERT
1 c flour 1/2 c margarine 1/2 c nuts (pecans) |
Mix together. Bake 15 min at 350. Cool. |
8 oz cream cheese 1 c pwd sugar 1 c. Cool Whip |
Mix cream cheese and sugar. Fold in 1 cup Cool Whip. Spread on crust. |
2 pkg. instant Pistachio pudding 3 c. milk |
Beat pudding. Pour over cream cheese. When set, Top with more Cool Whip. |
THREE-LAYER LEMON DESSERT
2 c. flour 1 c. margarine 1/2 c. chopped nuts |
Mix together and bake in 9 x 13 pan for 15 min at 350.

Mix 1 large pkg. instant lemon pudding, prepared as directed on pkg. |
Spread on first layer. |
1 8 oz pkg. cream cheese 1 c. pwd sugar. 2 c. Cool Whip at room temp. |
Mix cream cheese and pwd sugar. Add Cool Whip. Spread on top. Sprinkle with 1/2 c. slivered almonds. Chill. |
