We evaluated DCE over a period of nine months. In that DCE provided both authentication and authorization information in session tickets it offers the most integrated solution over existing architectures. There are a number of database and transaction processing systems incorporating DCE. Examples include “Open Horizon” and Transarc’s “Encina”. Some work has also been done in architecting a DCE Web environment.
