Notes:
We currently use Apache web servers due to the availability of source code and supported features like SSL. This has allowed us to implement plugin authentication modules enabling the web server to access authentication services like Kerberos. We expect augment the authorization service with a “State Server” that will be responsible for maintaining session credential and authorization state.
We’ve done some experimenting with the U Michigan and Netscape LDAP services. We’re still looking for a robust implementation that can interface with DB architectures. The Netscape Directory and Certificate services look promising in that they support Informix and some level of certificate administration capability.
