Boundaries

• Systems boundaries should be viewed along a continuum:

Rigid……………………Diffuse

• Rigid = Completely Closed System- Accepts No Input-Gives No Output

• Diffuse = Completely Open System - Accepts and Gives All

• Ends of Continuum--Dysfunctional

• Middle of Continuum -- Healthy
