Sianne Ngai is a former resident of Oahu. She has an MFA from Brown University and a PhD from Harvard University. She is currently an assistant professor in English department at Stanford where she teaches 20th century theory and culture, feminism, poetry and film/media studies. Her critical work has appeared in Postmodern Culture, Camera Obscura, and Open Letter. She has published two books of poems: Criteria (O Books) and Discredit (Burning Deck).
