Basic Problems with Security


[One NASA Network] Center's push to make as much data available by the Web as possible has led to a proliferation of distributed and mostly unmanaged Web servers. This, coupled with the Center's direction to put a server on every desktop, has led to a security nightmare in which systems that were intended to make information available to the Center have unknowingly made it accessible to the world.
