The Center for Biomedical Statistics


I now work for the Center for Biomedical Statistics (or CBS) as the staff director.  The CBS is a newly created center on the UW campus to facilitate interactions between biostatisticians and medical or public health researchers.  The initial, core funding for the center comes from a large NIH grant called a Clinical Translational Science Award.  Our center will collaborate with several other institutions outside of the University of Washington such as Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.


On June 20, 2008, the CBS group will open its doors for business on the 15th floor of the UW Tower (formerly the Safeco Tower) in the University District.
