4/3/02, recorded 4/4.

Saw comet Ikeda-Zhang from view park with Todd W. with binoculars and Mak. A bit of haze, so not as nice as 4/1. M31 became visible about 20 minutes after comet. Both easily in same field with binos. Todd hopped from comet to Andromeda with mak. Comet in mak just filled field w/ 32 mm plossl, so about 1 degree tail.

Earlier, looked at Venus, Saturn, Jupiter in mak with 9 mm Nagler. V a bust due to low altitude, gibbous but horribly blurry. Cassini's indistinct. Jupiter not bad, had a few moments of OK seeing with a faint dark barge in NEB, 3 or 4 belts seen.

Later, looked briefly at Mars, a red dot at low power. "Winter Albireo" pretty at low power. M42 OK, Trap a little swimmy but 4 stars.

Couldn't see M51 in binoculars, too many streetlights!
