Fuel Up to Play 60
Rolling application deadlines:  June 1, October 1, and January 15, 2013
The free in-school nutrition and physical activity program was launched by National Dairy Council and the National Football League, in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). More than 70,000 schools across the nation are enrolled in the program, which encourages students to eat healthy, be active and implement long-term, positive changes for themselves and their schools. Any U.S. school can enroll in the free program and thus be eligible to apply for up to $4,000 to help increase access to and consumption of nutrient-rich foods and participation in physical activity opportunities for students. Funds can be used for a variety of activities and tools, from resources that help enhance students’ healthy eating (such as foodservice equipment and nutrition education materials) to items that help schools address students’ physical activity needs (such as exercise equipment and student and staff incentives).
