When you go looking for information on the Internet, you use a search engine. Search engines include Google, Yahoo, Ask.com, and Dogpile. What these search engines do is to look on every page in their index of pages to see if a page contains the word for which you are searching. Then the search engine creates a list of all the web pages it can find that have the search word on them. If you include two words in the search box, the search engine finds all the pages that have BOTH words on the page somewhere. This is called an "AND" search because the resultimg pages must contain the first word AND the second word on the page. This is the default behavior for most search engines.
