Student skippers arrange for day long or multi day cruises on Lake Washington and Puget Sound. They will bring along two crew members and one KB Skipper rated WYC member. During the sailings they will seek to check these items off as complete. More details about each line item are available. Each student skipper is responsible for keeping their own checklist. After completion, the student skipper will meet with two of the instructors to discuss progress. If all requirements are met then a WYC written Keelboat Skipper test will be administered and a keelboat skipper rating may be acquired. Being that this list is fairly extensive, the period of time for completion is open ended.
