Good reading material and resources are somewhat difficult to find for the average vintage motor scooter. This page will list all of the available publications, books, magazines, newsletters, etc for the scooter enthusiast.

First off try Scootering Magazine. The best monthy scooter resource in the world:

2stroke buzz is a quarterly magazine that comes out in a variety of formats. This publication is highly reccomended.


Next up is the wonderful little operation by the Vespa Club of America. They do a quarterly magazine for all VCOA members. To subscribe and become a member:


The Illustrated Motorscooter Buyer's Guide, by Michael Dregni and Eric Dregni. This book is a buyers guide, covering all major models of scooters; Vespa, Lambretta, Cushman, Heinkel, NSU...
Vespa - An Illustrated History, by Eric Brockway. This book, published by the boys at Haynes (who do the two Vespa manuals as well), is primarily about the Douglas Vespa (Vespas built in the UK under license by Piaggio). The book is packed full of black and white photos, with very little text to distract the reader.
Vespa Bella Donna: die Taille des Jahrhunderts - die Formen der 50er by Peter Roos. Published by Nieswand Verlag, Kiel, this is a picture book you must have at your coffee table at all times. Numerous great photos from the Vespa calendars of the 50's and 60's. Many of the photos were used to make up this web page.
Military Cushman Club Newsletter. For the person interested in cushman Military scooters and other military Motorcycles/scooters. Published 6 times A year. Buy/sell/trade all ads are free

Motor Scooters. This small pamphlet-like book by scooter historian Mike Webster. Published by the charming people at Shire Books, Motor Scooters (Shie album 181) is the perfect introduction to the great variety motor scooters. With a minimum of text and many black & white photos, Mike Webster's work is perfect for every scooter enthusiast.


Scooters Made in Italy This book is the work of the scooter genius Vittorio Tessera. Mr. Tessera is the formost scooter historian in Italy, and comes up with this hard back masterpiece. By the way, text is in Italian.

Vespa mi'amore: alle Modelle von 1946 bis heute (I think this translates to: "Vespa My Love: All Models from 1946 to Date") Geschichte/Technik/ Nostalgie by Ulrich Kubisch (in German). Published by Schrader Ver-lag, Suderburg(Germany). The book contains a lot of information of most Vespa-models ever produced and countless black-and-white photos (215 pages).
