I’m a graduate student in the Earth and Space Sciences Department at the University of Washington working with Kate Huntington, studying tectonics and geochemistry. My current research investigates aspects of basin evolution, diagenesis, and tectonics in western North America. Specifically, I am using ‘clumped isotope’ geochemistry to quantify thermal conditions in the shallow crust as a means to understand Tertiary structural diagenesis in the American Southwest.

Before entering graduate school I spent two and a half years working as a high school chemistry teacher in Austin, Texas. I graduated with a degree in geology from Carleton College in 2007. I spend my time outside of research hiking, climbing, biking, knitting, reading, and cooking in Seattle.
