Problem Statement: The University of Washington Regents and the Cascadia Community College (CCC) in conjunction with the University of Washington, Bothell have entered into an agreement to provide services to the CCC community. Some of these services require Uw NetID authentication. Description: This project will provide UW NetID Services for the Cascadia Community College students, faculty and staff. In addition to provisioning the service, Computing and Communications group at the UW will provide the design, development and support for providing this service in conjunction with Cascadia Community College. There potential number of users are approximately 2400 students and 120 faculty/staff as of 12/2004 Assumptions: - Cascadia Community Colletge will manage UW NetID custody
- The proper security will be maintained in any data exchange.
Constraints: The new proxy will replace the current mode of operation for Cascaida Community College clients. The UW Libraries plan to decommission the current proxy servers in June 2005. These servers provide the appropriate access to Cascadia Community College faculty, staff and students; therefore, this project must be fully implemented prior to the end of the Spring Quarter at CCC. This timeframe will allow the CCC IT staff and UW Bothell Libraries the ability to prepare students for Summer Session 2005 at CCC. The primary reason for documenting and training students at the beginning of the calendar year is that the browsers are currently configured for the old proxy server. Objectives: Objectives for the project are: - provide UW NetID service to students, faculty and staff at Cascadia Community College
- design and develop the infrastructure for the provisioning of UW NetID service
- develop the necessary policies, procedures and guidelines for providing this service.
- establish the organizations tasked with ongoing maintenance with the tools necessary to maintain the service
- track costs as practicable.
Deliverables: Deliverables for the project are: - Cascadia to UW Feed
- Shibboleth Installation at Cascadia
- New Provisioning Web Pages at Cascadia
- Modification to provisioning pages at UW
