There's an excellent article in the New York Times today, in the Science section. Various people are consulted to evaluate NASA's capability to mobilize for a lunar colony and a Mars mission. Some say it can be done, but only if they cut the shuttle program and shut down "unneeded centers." If you want the article, email me at mcbyrne@mit.edu.
