UWFM Ashwin Roa Much of Geoff's medical education occurred in Israel, which gave him the opportunity to travel and see the world. Before med school, he studied photography and skied every weekend in Colorado. He then moved to Santa Barbara for his pre-med degree. While there, he did clinical research in diabetes and surfed as much as possible. Dr. Ankeney has a true love for fiction and is in the process of writing his first novel, which he describes as "Star Trek in the body."
